Thank you for your super kind comments. Wow, a fan of my work for over a decade… that’s cool because I’m on the verge of turning 14 (whoa) this coming January. That means you’ve been along for the ride for the better part of RVGFanatic’s existence. Very cool.

I understand your feelings on Super Mario Kart. I know I loved it back then in 1992. I know I still loved it when I originally reviewed it 8 years ago in 2012. I haven’t played it in a while, so I can’t say for sure that my exact sentiments in the review still remain true to this day. I’ve played a lot of Mario Kart 8 on the Switch in the past year or so. It might make coming back to SMK a little difficult to say the least. It’s all good… having different opinions is what makes life interesting. Thank you again for being a long time reader!

I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m not huge on SMK. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a fun game, but massively overrated imo. It has quite a few problems like horrible rubberband AI (which to be fair the Mario Kart series is known for questionable AI in general but not to this degree) and the fact that the CPUs get special items you don’t, slippery controls and awkward drifting, boring, flat track design, the whole split screen thing even in single player, and the fact that you can barely see five feet in front of you. It’s also kinda slow and plodding. In my eyes, every single Mario Kart after was a massive improvement. Scott The Woz’s video pretty much sums up my feelings.

To be fair, if it was the only game in the series, I’d probably love it a lot more. But it’s not, and I’d rather play literally any other Mario Kart besides Tour (Double Dash gang represent!).

But the thing I love about this website is how in depth you are and all the little details and the passion you show for gaming. I’ve loved your site for around a decade now, and I’m hoping you continue for years to come. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment, Aldo. Yes, you are correct — Street Racer is a product of England. Allow me to clarify — by “lone American clone” I meant that Street Racer is the only “Super Mario Kart clone” on the SNES that came out in North America (the other games I listed never did).
