Heh, as do I! (Place Magical Pop'n slightly above Magical Adventure 3). I also have MP in my top 30 (SFC only games at least). I ranked it #28. Magical Adventure is 30.

The second repro NTSC cart I got last year (not that this game has much to translate, but I'm not complaining) after Ganpuru: Gunman's Proof, Magical Pop'n I consider to be a really good platformer from start to finish! =) I concur that it's not Top 10 material (more like Top 30), but it's very enjoyable; I always liked reading your impressions of it long before I got to play it myself.

It's very charming, the soundtrack is engagingly catchy (especially the first half of the four stage theme, that one's my favorite), the variety in terms of controls lends so much--especially as the areas are nonlinear--and there's plenty of sufficient challenge I find (particularly the final two stages and how hugely maze-like they are), and it's a pretty-looking game too (that parallax scrolling in the first stage is incredible); I even really liked the design of the bosses (the final one especially). I also give credit to the late Ai Iijima (RIP) for bringing Princess (no name whatsoever, just "Princess") to life with her vocal talents heard throughout, for I find that it gives the game personality. =)

Me, I place this above Capcom's Magical Adventure trilogy (*slightly* above Mickey & Donald). Keep up the great work, RVGSteve! =)
