Thanks for sharing that! I didn't know that either, and as you said, that definitely makes Keeper even cooler than it already was. Imagine a Keeper re-release on the Nintendo Switch. Could become a huge cult hit!

All the more reason I consider Keeper to be Datam Polystar's greatest Success story! =D

Also because it's got two characters from one Datam Polystar's earlier pre-Success publishing efforts in the 1993 Affect-developed Makeruna! Makendō (Kendo Rage in America): the main protagonist from that game Mai Tsurugino (referred to as "Makendō") and the enemy you would sometimes stumble across in that game's penultimate round Maririn (only in this game they're roughly the same size as the latter was tiny in the aforementioned platformer). I had no idea who these characters were when I first played Keeper in 2016 which is why I've oft-played as the titular character (that and he's incredibly adorable), but after having played Makeruna! Makendō almost two years ago and very recently having looked up what the character designer Ano Shimizu did for my recent review and the credit for those two characters in Keeper popped up I was like, "OHHH! I get it now!!" =O
I love that those two games have got spiritual ties to each other in some form because of those two characters. =)

I knew Keeper was great before, and I still consider it so, but the recent realization makes it even better.

To each their own

Good review, RVGSteve; I recently got to play it this Summer and Keeper is adorably addicting (emphasis on adorable)! =D

I like the controls a lot--the fact that you can push, pull, and even jump on top of said blocks really adds so much variety--and many of the puzzles are fun to solve in their own way. I especially loved the titular character and how charming and expressive he was, especially when he falls asleep after being idle.

I'd say Success did a... er, successful job with this puzzler! =D It's a KEEPER!
