It’s cool when my memories connect with others such as yourself… there’s something special about being a 10 year old boy playing baseball in the spring and summer time. It’s almost like a rite of passage in many ways. Glad it brought back some good baseball memories of your own. Awesome to hear you used Jones’ monologue for your final speech! Easily one of my favorite speeches in cinema history, that and along with the ‘want to have a catch’ line that gets me every time! When I heard they were finally doing an MLB game there next year I thought it would be awesome to go, but like you stated I would be terrified to see how much ticket prices go for.

Sorry to hear about not-so-great baseball league memories, but at least you had some good book-end moments to cap it off! I use to love summer league baseball and pick-up games with neighborhood kids, your writing brought back a lot of great memories! Really fun read!
