Yeah, there were a few that seemed pretty similar huh? Another one that comes to mind is SmartBall, which is super underrated and loads of fun.

I liked it. I played it back to back with a later game called Jelly Boy on Nintendo Switch Online. Oddly similar games in some ways though obviously made differently. One transforming into animals and one transforming into objects.

I kinda liked those bot puzzles. Though it seemed Buckmeister and Doh-Doh were hardly in the game.

What’s more surprising is that there is no real text guide anywhere. Only YouTube videos. This article was the closest I found. I managed to beat this regardless.

Clayfighter is a classic. Claymates is a generic piece of shit clay animals platformer, barely any better than your average free to play flash game online slammed into a SNES cartridge. A product of its creators being high as shit on heroin and or cocaine.

I enjoyed it too. Quality game that despite a robust advertising campaign (yes, not the best one though, as you said), is fairly forgotten and overlooked when looking at the SNES library. Personally, I don’t think it’s great, but I definitely think it’s good and deserves a little more love than what it usually gets these days.

I love this Game, it’s really a shame how Interplay ruined the popularity by making the worst marketing choices but it’s still my favourite game, even in 2021 I can’t get enough from it…
Sure, I have to play it on an emulator since my snes died a couple of months ago due to a heavy thunderstorm but that doesn’t hold me back from playing for days or weeks this still awesome game…
If I could give my opinion to Brian Greenstone, I would give him for this game a solid 10/10 in EVERY ASPECT of this amazing game… He deserved a Platinum Trophy covered in Diamonds in my opinion…

Neither did I. Good information from Brian, for sure. Yeah, I felt a little sad for him too when I read his answers. It sounded like his game won some trade show awards, gained some steam and recognition, but due to Interplay delaying it from being released in time for that Christmas 1993 season (due to Clay Fighter taking priority), Claymates was almost doomed to fail. Then, when it was finally released in the first quarter of 1994, it just never quite got off the ground like Brian was hoping. It probably would have sold and done better had it come out during that Christmas ’93 season. I guess we’ll never know.

But the beauty is, anyone can play Claymates today and form their own opinion about it. Personally, as my review stated, I think it’s pretty darn solid. Have you played it, Angelo? If so, let me know your thoughts.
