There is nothing worse than to play a game that’s outright disappointing (either as its own thing or if it’s affiliated with a series you’re familiar with) or starts out promising but then goes off the rails (same either-or conditions); I know, I’ve been there (Riedel Software Productions’ mediocre take in my opinion on Tom and Jerry on the SNES comes to mind for me personally for one example, that is one of the relatively few SNES titles I wish I never played; it lacked so much energy and charm and comic timing from the series to the point of making me sad as someone who liked the Hanna-Barbera series so much).
